Whether you’re working from home, on the job hunt, or trying to launch a business, it’s tough to stay productive throughout the day during these uncertain times.

Luckily, there's a science to getting productive! 🙌 Let's jump into six hacks to help you have the most productive day ever.

Make Your Bed

We know - you’ve probably heard this one every day of your childhood. But making your bed isn’t only to please your mother. It’s actually a severely underrated productivity hack.

If the first thing you do every morning is make your bed, it means you’ve already had a small win within two minutes of waking up. The best way to stay on track with your goals is to measure success in small wins.

Making your bed sets the tone for your day to continue onward and upward.

To-Do Lists

Having a to-do list keeps you on target for the day by giving you tangible goals to work toward. Write down small, actionable goals for the day and physically check things off as you complete them.

We all know how awesome it feels to complete a full to-do list by the end of the day, so let that motivate you toward productivity.

Take Breaks

This one might seem counterintuitive, but it’s super important. Our brains aren’t wired to maintain focus for very long. So, taking breaks now and then help us reset and keep our eye on the prize.

Try using the Pomodoro Technique. Set a timer for 25 minutes and do focused work. Then, take a 5-minute break. Repeat four times before taking a longer break. Then get back to it using the same pattern.

Avoid Social Media

Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are built to be addicting. So, there’s no shame in getting lost in a rabbit hole of cat videos now and then. But, to boost productivity, staying off social media can do wonders.

Use an internet blocker like Freedom to block certain sites during your working hours. Delete social media apps from your phone and get yourself out of the habit of constantly checking notifications.

This goes for your email inbox, too!

Reward Yourself

Never underestimate the power of a good reward. Pick something you love and use it as a reward if you complete everything on your to-do list for the week.

Some reward ideas might be getting takeout from your local Thai restaurant, $50 to do some online shopping, or guilt-free binging on Netflix for all of Saturday.

Keep your reward in mind when you feel like being lazy and make sure to follow-through with the reward to congratulate yourself on a job well done.

Exercise

Last but not least, exercise is the ultimate productivity hack. Not only does working out improve your mood, but it actually gives you energy. We all know what happens once 3:00 rolls around. We hit that afternoon slump and think, there’s no way I have the energy to do a workout.

If you commit to daily exercise, you’ll see that not only do you have the energy to do it, but afterward, you have even more to give! So, during one of your long breaks, squeeze in a workout and watch that to-do list disappear.
